Nkhatabay

Nkhata Bay, or simply Nkhata, is the capital of Malawi’s Nkhata Bay District. It is located east of the city of Mzuzu on the shores of Lake Malawi (formerly Lake Nyasa) and is one of the lake’s main ports. According to the 2018 census, the population of Nkhata Bay was 14,274. Nkhata Bay is located 413 kilometers (257 miles) from Malawi’s capital city, Lilongwe, and 576 kilometers (358 miles) from Blantyre, Malawi’s second-largest city. Nkhata Bay is Lake Malawi’s second busiest resort. Activities include the following:
